     I am a DELIVERED drug addict, alcoholic and everything else that came along with that lifestyle.  DELIVERED by the power of the Holy Spirit through salvation and a complete surrending of MY will to HIS will for my life. I lived my way for over 20 years in pain and agony.  I was a crack addict and mainlined cocaine.  I had Budwieser for breakfast and Crown Royal for dinner.  I owned my home, but chose to live out of my car because I WAS INSANE, going from crack house to party to whereever I could use.  After two divorces, a suicide (yes, I died,was revived and in a coma) and later the death of my friend from an overdose, all of which landed me in a psych ward not once but twice.  I was properly diagnosed for bipolar disorder which I had been since a teenager(who knew?)and was told I had been self medicating all those years.  A common problem I would soon find out among drug abusers. 
     When I finally started getting the help I needed, God was very clear about what He wanted for my life.  I had two choices…life or death.  Death was not an option anymore.  I had experienced it, not once, but twice and it was not pretty.  My friend was not saved when she died, in fact she was one of the most tormented souls I can remember besides my own and my guilt of her death ran deep.  I needed healing, I wanted more of God, I needed Him. I found the New Life Christian Recovery Program in Enterprise, Alabama www.newlifenewbeginning.com and voluntarily admitted myself.     My healing began and my calling became clear as I stayed and worked for the Center for over 2 years.  I was able to help others find their way to Christ and deliverance from their “hells” that they had created for themselves.  I wanted to enlighten them about mental health issues in relation to drug abuse.  So, my education began and here I am in college back in my hometown, majoring in psychology.  I want to better understand our behaviors in addiction and mental health and to obtain a degree so I can get my foot in the door to better assist people in these areas.  This is not of my doing…GOD must get all the praise and glory because I would not be here IF NOT FOR HIM.   
    I have been clean and sober for four years and ON FIRE FOR GOD for just as long!   He is MY SOURCE OF STRENGTH.   I began a support group/program called the  DARKNESS TO LIGHT CHRISTIAN RECOVERY MINISTRY www.darknesstolightrecovery.org  as a ministry of love so that I could give back what I had recieved and help others in my community.  This is just the beginning of my testimony and others.  As Revelation 12:11 says we “are overcomers by the blood of the Lamb and and the word of our testimony.”    My ultimate goal is to let God use this and my life for His glory, as tools to help someone that needs DELIVERANCE FROM THEIR HELL.  This will ultimately come through the salvation of Jesus Christ and a complete surrender of their life and will.  I am hoping that they will see that they are no different than myself or anyone else that was trapped in or “bound up” by addiction and all the painful consequenses.  I can tell you that I have been there, I have looked death in the face and there is HOPE and a life without DOPE everyday.  A life filled with LOVE, PEACE, JOY AND A PURPOSE.  My prayer is that no one else dies from dope without knowing  the love of God and NO ONE DIES WITHOUT JESUS CHRIST IN THEIR HEARTS AND THE PEACE THAT HE BRINGS.  Mark 8:34-38
